This handcycle is equipped with two independent brakes. This one operates on the rim and also serves as a parking brake
The Tourer handcycle comes equiped with a heavy duty elastomeric centering spring. It returns the steering to center and keeps the handcycle going straight.
The contoured seatback and slung seat base are extremely comfortable and they provide plenty of support for all day riding.
The Tourer handcycle comes equipped with a powerful disc brake. This provides enough force to stop in the toughest of conditions. Unlike a rim brake it is also effective when wet. The hub on the handcycle is a Shimano Deore 36 spoke hole. There are several options for different hubs, brakes and gears in our component choice section.
Check out the different component levels to find out more about our different configurations. The standard setup for shifters on the Tourer is a pair of SRAM grip shifters on the center post as shown.
The Tourer handcycle uses a standard bicycle 68mm bottom bracket shell. This allows us to fit virtually any crankset available in the bicycle industry. The standard setup comes equipped with a Shimano mountain triple crankset with 170mm crankarms. This in combination with a 7 speed cassette offers 21 widely spaced gears ranging from 18.6 to 100.3 Gear Inches The crankhandles come attached using 9/16 LH and RH standard pedal spindles.
