Introducing the Tourer MTB Handcycle
I went handcycling a last year with, a friend, Bill Lasher, of Lasher sports on the trails in South San Diego. I slapped a couple of cyclocross tires on a Tourer and we took off. I expected to get all beaten up by Bill on his really nice Lasher ATH. To my surprise the Tourer actually did remarkably well. I was able to go everywhere that the Lasher went. So when I got a call this spring from a potential customer in Georgia, I was talked into building a mountain version of the Tourer. Here it is!
- The new bike has:
- 26″ front Mountain wheel
- 29er rear wheels
- Disc brake
- 11 inches of ground clearance
- Shimano Deore component set
- 12-36 cassette
- 22-32-42 Crankset
The official launch will come in a week or so once we have had a chance to take on some serious trails and put it through its paces (with a video camera in hand of course). There will be wheel options on this handcycle, probably for 29ers all round. I plan to make the components standard.
If you call us we can customize it however you like.
